As the year comes to a close, we're taking a look back to the absolute best love songs of 2018-from country to pop to R&B, the songs on this list will make you long for your love even if they're in the next room. Big names like Justin Timberlake, Kacey Musgraves, and Shawn Mendes were clearly feeling the love this year, singing about the perfect girl, getting butterflies, and "fallin' all in you."

Even though only six of the selections on our Best Love Songs of 2018 playlist contain the word "love" in their titles, there's no shortage of lovey-dovey lyrics here. And our favorite tunes gave us some (expert?) insight on how to make a relationship last. Ella Mai and John Legend swear that "the way you pay attention" to your significant other makes all the difference. Frank Ocean begs his loves "wherever you're goin', I'm goin' that way." And Matt and Kim prove that it's all about getting someone who's only "happy if you're happy."

As with most art, some of the year's top songs illustrated reality. Ariana Grande turned "R.E.M." into a tribute to now ex-fiancГ© Pete Davidson on her latest chart-topping album. She wore her heart on her sleeve in the recording studio, even post-breakup, and now has six Grammy nominations to prove it. Bey and Jay used a joint tour and nine new loved-up tracks to rekindle their romance and prove that they're still just as crazy in love. And, on-screen lovebirds Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga turned cinematic art into vocal reality, upstaging everyone with their soulful A Star Is Born soundtrack.

But, let's be honest-you're here to find out which love songs your guests absolutely need to hear on the dance floor when they celebrate your upcoming nuptials. The easy answer is the whole playlist. But if you only plan to sprinkle a few of this year's best love songs into the mix (there are lots of throwbacks to play throughout the night), we do have some suggestions.

For a brand spanking new first dance song (there's no rule saying we all have to start our marriages swaying to a classic!), soul enthusiasts will enjoy "Beyond" by Leon Bridges, and fans of country crooner Carrie Underwood might like the heartstring-tugging lyrics of "End Up With You." Have the DJ play George Ezra's "All My Love" or Ben Rector's "Over and Over" during dinner time-they practically require listeners to bob their head or tap their feet. Troye Silvan's "My My My!" and Jess Glynne's "All I Am" should (literally) get the party jumping.
