Jordin Sparks: singer, songwriter, American Idol star, and nowвЂ¦ a mom! According to People, Sparks and her husband, Dana Isaiah, are now parents to their first child, son Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr.
The baby boy was born May 2 at 9:04 p.m. PT at the Natural Birth Center & Women's Wellness in L.A. and weighed 8 pounds, 4.5 ounces and measured 21.5 inches. People added that the couple are already have a nickname for their son: DJ.
Sparks described the birthing process to the publication, saying the whole process was "miraculously beautiful."
"Dana caught him with my midwife, Simona, and when he handed him to me, I was absolutely overwhelmed with joy. He was and is everything we imagined," Sparks said. She added that she's already bouncing back, just days after she gave birth. "I'm feeling pretty good! I am so grateful for my husband and amazing team at the Natural Birthing Center. I don't think I would be feeling this great without them!"
Sparks said that she can't wait for motherhood, and loves her son so much already. "I've always loved kids and knew that if given the blessing, that I would love and embrace it more than I realized. It's only been a few days and I love it so much already!вЂќ

Isaiah and Sparks tied the knot in a secret wedding last summer-but the two didn't share the exciting news until November 2017, when they also revealed that they were expecting their first child together. The two were married on July 16, while on vacation in Hawaii with a small group of friends. "We're both really excited. He's been like, 'I want to shout it from the mountain tops!'" Sparks said in an interview with People at the time. "We're really proud to be married to each other and to be celebrating this." She continued, "It just more solidifies the whole team sentiment of a relationship. You know you're still individuals, but at the same time everything is about 'we' and 'us' as opposed to 'you' and 'I.' "
